Description
Abstract
The Airports coverage is a generalized geographic depiction of the airports/landing strips in San Bernardino County. The current use for this coverage is for the Comprehensive Transportation Plan.

Purpose
The geography was digitized from 1995 Thomas Bros. Maps. The attribute data is from Southern California Association of Governments Aviation Technical Advisory Committee and was given to the DMO by Kim Schultz.

Supplementary Information
The original airport geography was supplied as part of the SCAG Access Project. Selected airports in the coverage were redigizited in Arc/Info as polygons to create a new coverage and only the airport name was copied from the original file.

Kim Shultz supplied staff with SCAG Aviation TAC data. This data was used to populate the respective airport. The hardcopy documents were combined into a single Paradox DBF table. The table was then converted into an INFO file using the A/I DBFINFO command. This table was then joined to the airport geography using the A/I command JOINITEM. The INFO and DBF versions of the airport database were then deleted from the Sparc.
