4. You will see a list of available map services. The Metadata Service will have icon of a paper connected to a network line. Assuming your username and password were correctly entered, the paper will have a “hand and pencil” icon over it showing that you have the ability to edit data within the service. Show Picture
5. Expand the metadata folder and search for your jurisdiction’s folder. Open it to view what is currently in your folder. These documents are metadata documents that you have the ability to edit. You will only have the ability to edit documents in your folder. Any folders or files created outside of your own folder will be deleted by the network administrator.
6. To submit your metadata into the metadata service, go to a dataset on your local machine or network that has metadata associated with it. You can either "right click and copy" the dataset or drag the dataset into your folder on the metadata service. (Note: This will only post the metadata of your dataset not the actual data itself.) 7. Your upload time will typically take only a couple of seconds, but, depending on multiple variables, may take over a minute. If you have any problems or receive any errors, please contact me at cbrown@sanbag.ca.gov.
